post-patchFor over 40 years, Post 53 has provided the town of Darien, CT with emergency medical services, while providing local high school students with an exceptional opportunity to serve their community. The dedicated volunteers of Post 53 man three fully-equipped state-of-the-art ambulances, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

EMT Class 2015

This year, Darien EMS had 19 high school students and 5 adults complete EMT class! Pictured above is the graduating class at the Post 53 annual extrication exercise with local fire departments. If you are interested in becoming an adult advisor at Post 53, sign up for EMT class starting this fall! The course begins October 5th and finishes early March. After 140 hours of classroom study and 20 hours of practical training, EMT students are eligible to take Connecticut State examinations for their basic level EMT certification.
